Between 2011 and 2015, excavations were carried out on the settlement hill (“Dragata” or “Pyrgos-Kalyvia”) of Pheneos (Archaia Pheneos) in Arcadia, under the direction of Konstantinos Kissas and Peter Scherrer. These excavations were part of a collaboration between the EFA Korinthias and the Austrian Archaeological Institute in Athens, with the University of Graz representing the latter. Subsequent processing of the finds over the following years was financed by a multi-year project supported by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and led by Elisabeth Trinkl. This was followed by a second project.
