Between 2011 and 2015, excavations were carried out on the city hill of Pheneos (Archaia Pheneos, also known as "Dragata" or "Pyrgos-Kalyvia") in Arcadia under the direction of Konstantinos Kissas and Peter Scherrer. They are based on a cooperation between the EFA Korinthias and the Austrian Archaeological Institute in Athens, represented in this project by the University of Graz. The subsequent processing of finds over the following years was financed by a multi-year project supported by the Austrian Science Fund FWF under the direction of Elisabeth Trinkl, which was followed by a second project.
